Hi,
I tried to install the RC amd64 Version on my PC, an installation of Windows XP SP3 exists on the installation partition.
I choose a new installation and SETUP informed me, that the old Windows XP won't be able to boot because of the renaming of former %SYSTEMROOT%.
After doing the first installation steps and rebooting, Windows tried to start the second phase of the installation process.
I see the Boot Manager and choose "Windows 7".
Then I see Windows 7 booting (Windows logo appears and disappears) and suddenly the system reboots.
For a extremly short time a BSoD is visible. I can only capture few information be recording with my video cam (BSod only visible in two frames, but only a part of it).
Here's the text of the BsOD (not very helpful):
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent demage.
If this is the first time......
...disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard corruption..."
More was not visible, the screen went black.
I also tried to boot the system to save state. So I can see, that the last driver loading was "disk.sys". Then it takes a few seconds and system crashes.
Here some informations on my system:
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3
4 GByte RAM
CPU intel E8400
ATI Radeon 9600
AHCI enabled
serial mouse and PS2 keyboard
Any idea how the find out the reason of this problem or how to go on?
Cheers
