Hi guys,

I recently assembled new pc(with clean install of Windows) and I'm getting BSOD(SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED 0x1000007e dxgmms1.sys) while playing games. Sometimes its related to atikmdag.sys or atikmpag.sys. So I suspected graphics adapter or RAM.

PC specs, config and dump are in attached file.
Link Removed

I tried following:
Running memtest on each memory stick over night. - no errors
Running scf /scannow. - no problems
Running prime95. - no problems
Running stress test on GPU(FurMark, 3DMark11) - no problems
Checking temperatures on stress test. - in expected interval
Updated Windows, BIOS, tried several versions of graphics driver(including newest). - no effect

I will be very grateful for any advice.
Thanks

I found some discussions related to the BSOD error you're experiencing, particularly with the dxgmms1.sys driver. Here are a few suggestions based on the information found:
  1. DirectX Graphics MMS (dxgmms1.sys):
    • The dxgmms1.sys driver is associated with DirectX Graphics MMS. There are reports of this driver causing SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED errors in Windows environments.
    []Graphics Driver:
    • Ensure that your graphics driver is up to date. Even though you mentioned updating it, make sure that you have the latest stable version installed to rule out any driver-related issues.

    ]Driver Verifier:
    • You can use Driver Verifier to stress test drivers specifically related to graphics and monitor if any driver is causing the issue. This tool helps to identify problematic drivers more precisely.
    []Check for Conflicting Software:
    • Sometimes, third-party software like antivirus programs or utilities related to graphics can conflict with system drivers. Temporarily disable or uninstall any such software to see if the issue persists.
    [
    ]Windows Update:
    • Keep all your Windows updates current, as Microsoft often releases patches and updates that can address driver-related issues.
    []Review Event Viewer:
    • Check the Event Viewer for any specific error codes or warnings that might give more insight into the root cause of the BSOD.
    [
    ]Hardware Changes:
    • If you recently made any changes to your hardware configuration or added new components, try reverting those changes to see if the BSOD persists. Given the complexity of diagnosing BSOD errors, it might be beneficial to run Driver Verifier and analyze the results to pinpoint the problematic driver. Additionally, keeping an eye on the Event Viewer for any recurring errors can provide crucial information for further troubleshooting. Feel free to try these suggestions, and if you encounter any specific error messages or new developments, let me know so we can further narrow down the issue.
