Recently icons on my taskbar were wider and rectangular, instead of the square shape they usually are.

This is what it was before:

Also, file explorer has wider spacing between items and the address bar and search are larger.

I am using a HP Pavilion x360 Convertible. Can anyone help me?

I just figured out the problem! In Settings > System > Tablet > Additional Tablet Settings, there's options for when not using tablet mode, and turning these off solved it. I don't remember touching any tablet settings, but they were turned on at some point.

You probably have Tablet mode turned on. Click the message box icon bottom right and click Tablet mode if it's enabled

I don't have tablet mode on?

No it appears to be off. You can try toggling it and see if it resets the spacing.

I also tried disabling the touch screen driver and it just made the icons on the bottom right tighter
