Even after setting the taskbar to two line view ( so I can see the complete day, date and time ) and locking it, it always reverts to one line view after a reboot. This has occurred with each release of W10 TP I've tried, does anybody have a solution for this.
Solution
To fix the issue where the taskbar reverts to one line view after a reboot in Windows 10, you can try the following steps:
- Registry Modification:
- Press
Win + Rto open the Run dialog. - Type
regeditand hit Enter to open the Registry Editor. - Navigate to the following key:
Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects3 - Find the
Settingsvalue in the right pane. - Right-click on
Settings, select Modify, and change the value data to03 00 00 00(by default, it might be set to02 00 00 00). - Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer to see if the taskbar layout is retained.

- Go to Taskbar settings.
- Check if the
Lock the taskbaroption is enabled. - Try enabling and disabling the two-line view or resetting the taskbar layout.

- Press
- System File Checker (SFC):
- Use the System File Checker to scan and repair system files that may be causing the taskbar issue. Run
sfc /scannowin an elevated Command Prompt. By trying these methods, you should be able to set the taskbar to two-line view and ensure that it retains this layout after a reboot in Windows 10.
