But i cannot access files from PC to laptop through homegroups, nor i can see my laptop listed in network devices.

In PC i am running Windows 7 Ultimate
In Laptop Windows 7 Home Premium

Solution
It sounds like you are experiencing issues with HomeGroup file sharing between your Windows 7 Ultimate PC and Windows 7 Home Premium laptop. HomeGroup should allow you to share files and resources between computers on the same network easily. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check HomeGroup Settings:

  1. Check HomeGroup password: Ensure that both the PC and laptop are using the same HomeGroup password.
  2. HomeGroup Troubleshooter: Run the built-in HomeGroup Troubleshooter on both the PC and laptop.
    • Click on Start > Control Panel > Troubleshooting > View all > HomeGroup.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to detect and resolve any issues.

[]Restart HomeGroup Services: Restart the HomeGroup Services on both devices.
    • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    • Locate these services: HomeGroup Listener and HomeGroup Provider.
    • Right-click on each service, select Restart, and ensure their Startup Type is set to Automatic.

      Network Discovery and File Sharing:

    [
]Enable Network Discovery: Make sure that Network Discovery is turned on.
    • Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings.
    • Under the Network Discovery section, select Turn on network discovery.
[]Check Firewall Settings: Ensure that the firewall settings on both devices are not blocking HomeGroup services.
    • Add HomeGroup-related services to the firewall exceptions list.
    [
]Share Specific Folders: Try sharing specific folders directly instead of relying on HomeGroup for sharing.

    Windows 7 HomeGroup Limitations:

    • Windows 7 Home Premium Limitations: Windows 7 Home Premium does not support acting as the homegroup host. Make sure your Windows 7 Ultimate PC is the homegroup host.
    • Check Workgroup Settings: Ensure that both devices are on the same workgroup.

Additional Tips:

  • Create a Workgroup: If HomeGroup doesn't work, you can try setting up a Workgroup instead for file sharing.
  • Advanced Sharing Settings: Check if advanced sharing settings are configured correctly on both devices.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the issue and establish successful file sharing between your Windows 7 devices. If the issue persists, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
