I have a sony vaio vpcebisoe. A little over a month ago my notebook just started crashing and rebooting. It occurs when the notebook has been in use for a while. Lets say once or twice a day. Brought it to a repair shop and they reinstalled windows. Just got it back and it happened again. Im starting to think it's a hardware prob. I would really appreciate if someone could help me.
Specs
Processor: Core i3 M 330
RAM: 4 GB GDDR 3
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 32 Bit
and yes, originally I had the 64 bit.
Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
Unfortunately I dont have the minidumps from before the reinstallation.
Thanks in advance

Solution
I'm having problems geting the latest sfep.sys to download. Tried checking out on sony support site. Could you just point me in the right direction please.
Sony Firmware Extension Parser is a control device to enable and control VAIO typical features such as button assignment, Fn functionality, brightness control and power management, etc. Its driver probably comes with one of those utilities for your VAIO model:

Completely uninstll it with the tool found here:

Later when your system has been stable for a couple of weeks, get Symantec latest version compattible with 7. For now, install MSE:

KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: c0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: 9be5b9ba, The address that the exception occurred at
Arg3: 9cfe5b44, Trap Frame

I'm having problems geting the latest sfep.sys to download. Tried checking out on sony support site. Could you just point me in the right direction please.
Sony Firmware Extension Parser is a control device to enable and control VAIO typical features such as button assignment, Fn functionality, brightness control and power management, etc. Its driver probably comes with one of those utilities for your VAIO model:

Happened Again
Hey, it's me again. Sorry for the hassle but my vaio crashed again. I was having trouble geting the sfep driver. Finally decided to install sony vaio update. Think I got it in the vaio peripherals metadata driver. But, it happened again. Here's the dump file, hope it helps.

thanks torrent G. My notebook was purchased in england so I didnt find it on the link. I went to the europe support site and saw the sfep driver. But, there's a prob, It's compatible only with the 64-bit version of windows. Currently mine is 32-bit. What do you recommend? Should I reinstall the 64 bit version? I'm willing to go that far to get peace of mind.
There has to be a 32 bit update, surely. I would do my best to find it. I really am fairly sure it doesn't matter which model you get it from. It's probably all the same driver for all Sony machines.
You can download and if it is in a zip, extract to a folder. See if the date is July 2009 or newer for the sfep.sys file. Then simply copy and paste it over the one now at C:\Windows\System32\drivers
Reboot.

I downloaded the 64 bit version. In the zip there was both an x64 and x86 version. Copied the x86 one in the drivers folder like you said and restarted. It was modified 12/22/2009. Though in device manager its still showing the 05/21/2009 version. Is this normal?

I had already installed the new SFEP driver. How come its still the prob? I had done memtest on the RAM when this whole thing started. When i stopped the test, it had done 11 passes with no errors. And the BIOS, I havent fiddled around in there at all since i purchased the laptop.
