I just formatted an 8GB thumb drive to NTFS under the admin account. After I was done, I right clicked and set "everyone" to full control and removed all other permissions.
I coped a huge file to the jump drive on another machine, then I get back to this one - and I can't copy the file off. The error is "You need permission to modify this resource"
I set "everyone" to full control - why would anyone need permission?

Did you set full control everyone, in both places. It's an ntfs drive now so you need to set share permissions as well as ntfs permissions under the security tab. Other than that you may have an ownership issue with the actual file itself, since it may have well inherited permissions and ownership from the machine that it came off from.

Why would you have needed to set the permissions anyway?
It should automatically let any user of ANY PC access the files.
