My usb-c output wich was designed to be a video out was working fine but after several windows security updates it has suddenly stopped working.
What has been changed and how do I unchanged it?
I have:
Updated my video drivers
Nvidea rtx2070
Reinstalled the hdmi and chipset drivers
Verified that the monitor and cable are working from a second source.
Disabled usbc and re-enabled from device manager

I'd start by looking for events regarding video or the usb-c / thunderbolt device

Thank you for the overly obvious suggestion.
As much as I like wasting time digging through event logs trying to determine what Microsoft decided to randomly change during an equally random update, I was hoping someone from Microsoft might be able to just tell me what they have done to thunderbolt support recently.

We have no affiliation with Microsoft. It's doubtful Microsoft would be able to give you any type of answer without gathering logs or debug output.

An update on my issue.

Apparently Asus uses direct memory access in thier usbc charging driver which causes windows to disable the usbc port as a security risk.
I am currently working on finding the software responsible for this.
