Hello

I have just upgraded to Windows 7 Professional 64BIT and my Wacom Intous 4 and optical mouse are not moving the cursor. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall with no luck. If I am on the web I can see everything reacting as if my cursor is rolling over but the cursor never moves. Any ideas?

It seems like you're experiencing issues with the cursor movement on your Windows 7 Professional 64-bit system after upgrading. Let's troubleshoot this problem with your Wacom Intuos 4 tablet and optical mouse. Here are some steps you can take to address this problem:

  1. Check USB Connections:
    • Ensure that the Wacom Intuos 4 tablet and the optical mouse are properly connected to the USB ports and there are no loose connections. Try connecting them to different USB ports on your computer to rule out any port issues.
    []Update Drivers:
    • Check if you have the latest drivers installed for your Wacom Intuos 4 tablet and optical mouse. Visit the official websites of Wacom and the mouse manufacturer to download and install the latest drivers compatible with Windows 7 64-bit.

    ]Device Manager Check:
    • Open Device Manager (you can do this by right-clicking on Computer > Manage > Device Manager) and look for any yellow exclamation marks next to the mouse/Wacom tablet devices. If you see any, there may be driver issues.
    []Disable Enhancements:
    • Sometimes, mouse cursor issues can be due to enhancements or settings. Go to Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options, and disable "Enhance pointer precision" or any other mouse enhancement options.
    [
    ]Check Settings:
    • In the Wacom tablet settings, ensure that the mapping area is correctly set up and that the tablet is configured to map to the correct monitor if you have multiple displays.
    []Hardware Test:
    • Test the Wacom tablet and the mouse on another computer to see if they work fine there. This will help determine if the issue is with the devices or your Windows system.
    [
    ]System Restore:
    • If the issue started immediately after the upgrade, you can try performing a System Restore to a point before the upgrade to see if that resolves the problem.
  2. Contact Support:
    • If none of the above steps work, reaching out to Wacom's support or the manufacturer of the mouse for further assistance may be necessary.

      Update:

Since Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft, it might be challenging to find compatible drivers for newer devices. Consider upgrading to a more recent version of Windows for better compatibility and security. Try these steps and let me know how it goes!
