I have been using the built in backup since I installed 7, yesterday I had to do a restore. When I navigated to where the backups were stored, the backup program said, "there is no information in this file." :(
I tried all of the 10 stored backups, got the same message on each time.

Now I have installed a third party software, and I want to turn off the wdws backup. I am constantly getting a message to set up backup. Anybody know what I can do.

Solution
Hello again,

Go to Start > Run, and type services. and, scroll down the list to Windows backup and set it to disabled.

You might also want to look in Task Scheduler to see if an entry exists here as well.
