Upgraded to 23H2 and switching on computer it powers into welcome screen. Sign into Microsoft Account and the screen immediately dims.
Remains dimmed when opening any program. Except when opening an old game Ultimate Mahjongg which changes the screen resolution. Exit the program and the home screen stays at the correct brightness and resolution.
Open any other program and the screen still remains at the same original settings. Open Settings and click on Display and the screen immediately dims. The only way to get back to the original brightness is to open the old game Ultimate Mahjongg.
Screen saver also runs at original settings.

It seems like there might be a compatibility issue with the new Windows update and your system configuration. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the dimming issue: 1. Update graphics drivers: Ensure that you have the latest graphics drivers installed for your Radeon RX570. Visit the manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers for your specific graphics card model. 2. Disable adaptive brightness: Windows has a feature called "Adaptive Brightness" that automatically adjusts the screen brightness based on ambient light conditions. To disable this feature, go to Settings > System > Display, and under the "Brightness and color" section, toggle off the "Change brightness automatically when lighting changes" option. 3. Adjust power settings: Some power settings can affect the screen brightness. To adjust them, go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings. In the Power Options window, make sure the current power plan is selected and click on "Change plan settings." Next, click on "Change advanced power settings" and navigate to the Display category. Ensure that the options related to brightness control are set to your desired settings and not configured to dim the screen. 4. Disable third-party apps: If you have any third-party apps installed that are responsible for controlling display settings, try disabling them temporarily to see if they might be causing the dimming issue. 5. Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter: This built-in tool can help identify and resolve issues with Windows updates. To run it, go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters. Find and run the "Windows Update" troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions. 6. Perform a clean boot: A clean boot starts Windows with a minimal set of startup programs and drivers, which can help identify software conflicts. Follow the instructions in this Microsoft support article to perform a clean boot: Link Removed If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you may consider rolling back to the previous Windows version or contacting Microsoft Support for further assistance.
