Windows 8 win8.1 MS login problem

Recently I have been pressed relentlessly to register to MS emailing. I never heard of this before & always logged in with my own email address &password. As at times I could not continue I accepted for their em address not knowing what I was letting myself in to.
The thing infiltrated everywhere from logging into start the PC to my account in IE & other instances.
Is there a way to revert to the original ways.

Solution
A email (hotmail or some other us service) is needed for a Microsoft account... No you can't get around it however you can also have a local account (without the right to wipe your nose) or just set the system to boot into the Microsoft account automatically without asking for any help from you... I.e. Less secure but more user-friendly
