My computer doesn't detect Window 7 after doing Window update.
I need to put in the RC7100 disc in to repair startup and System restore in order to get Window 7 to load again.

any tip on how I might be able to get updates to work?

Here are some tips to help you get Windows updates to work: 1. Check Update Settings: - Ensure that your Windows Update settings are configured correctly. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter: - Windows includes a built-in troubleshooter that can help automatically resolve issues with Windows Update. You can run this troubleshooter by going to Control Panel > Troubleshooting > System and Security > Fix problems with Windows Update. 3. Check for Malware: - Malware infections can sometimes interfere with Windows Update. Run a full antivirus scan on your computer to check for any malicious software. 4. Check Disk Space: - Ensure that your system has enough free disk space to download and install updates. Insufficient disk space can cause update failures. 5. Manually Install Updates: - If automatic updates are not working, you can try manually installing the updates from the Microsoft Update Catalog. 6. Update Drivers: - Make sure your device drivers are up to date. Outdated or incompatible drivers can sometimes cause Windows Update issues. 7. Perform a System Restore: - If you encounter issues with updates, you can try using System Restore to revert your system to a previous point before the update. 8. Contact Microsoft Support: - If the issue persists, you can contact Microsoft Support for further assistance and guidance on resolving Windows Update issues. By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue with Windows updates not working properly on your Windows 7 system.
