China is a global epicenter for innovation and as we shared back in March at the Windows Hardware Engineering Community summit in Shenzhen, China, we’re excited to be working with leading hardware and software companies in China to develop ground-breaking devices and consumer experiences for Windows 10.

In China, hundreds of millions of PCs operate Windows today and we’re excited to see over 10 million devices already running Windows 10. Our focus has been on delivering a great upgrade experience for our customers and through partnerships with Tencent, a leading social networking and gaming service in the world; Qihoo 360, a leading internet security company in China; and Lenovo, one of the world’s leading PC manufacturers – we’re off to a great start in China. And, we’ve seen great feedback from our program with Xiaomi, one of the top smartphone distributors in the world, helping us test Windows 10 on mobile devices with a set of Xiaomi Mi 4 power users.

Today, we’re excited to announce another partnership with a leader in China – Baidu. With over 600 million active users, Baidu is one of the most frequently used Internet gateways in China.

Together, we will make it easy for Baidu customers to upgrade to Windows 10 and we will deliver a custom experience for customers in China, providing local browsing and search experiences. Baidu.com will become the default homepage and search for the Microsoft Edge browser in Windows 10. Baidu’s new Windows 10 distribution channel, Baidu “Windows 10 Express” will make it easy for Chinese Internet users to download an official Windows 10 experience. Additionally, Baidu will deliver Universal Windows Applications for Search, Video, Cloud and Maps for Windows 10.

We remain deeply committed to delivering Bing around the world and we’re also committed to offering locally relevant experiences – like Baidu in China – to provide great Windows 10 experiences.

You can find more information about additional partnerships announced today here.

Thanks,

Yusuf
