Helping my father with his PC. He has an HP Envy pc and did the Windows 10 upgrade and things appeared fine. Couple weeks later, he's shutting down and he gets an error message saying he has 3 options as follows:

1) shut down and restart
2) Reinstall Windows 10 and with a caution that he ay lose some applications
3) remove all software and reinstall Windows 10 (in this option is appears the HDD would be wiped)

He chose option 2. Now he appears to have lost MS Office. Office came with the PC but it was preinstalled and so appears he does not have an activation key. PC is just off warranty.

What's the best course of action? Contact MS? Contact HP? Purchase MS Office again?

Thanks
