Windows 7 windows 7 default email

I just got windows 7 and tried windows live email. I tried to change my default email to eudora and also to thunderbird without any luck. Even when I select eudora or thunderbird it always defaults to windows live. Has anyone got a solution?

Click Start and on the right plane is Default Programs

My problem is that the default programs does not change the program. I even went to the association and associated .eml with eudora and it still brings up windows live as my default program

If all else fails I would uninstall Live email
