Hello Everybody, I'm a newbie and this is my first post. Recently I had someone build a computer with Windows 7 Pro 32-bit for me. Everything works fine. After 30 days I get a notice on my screen saying this is not genuine software........ He never gave me a code or key but during that 30 days I was able to update and install SP 1. I can't get in touch with the person who built it so I've bought a copy of Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. Is there anything I should know about installing over the old Windows 7 and what about drivers? This has been just a big HASSLE! Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks.

It seems like you're facing an issue with a non-genuine copy of Windows 7 installed on your computer. Here's a guide to help you resolve this situation:

Steps to Install a Genuine Copy of Windows 7 Pro 32-bit:

  1. Backup Your Data: Before proceeding with any major changes like reinstalling Windows, make sure to back up all important data to prevent any loss.
  2. Obtain a Genuine Copy of Windows 7 Pro 32-bit: Since you've already purchased a genuine copy of Windows 7 Pro 32-bit, you're on the right track to resolving the non-genuine software issue.
  3. Installation Process:
    • Insert the installation disc or USB with the genuine copy of Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
    • Boot from the installation media. You may need to change the boot priority in the BIOS settings.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 7. During the installation, you will be prompted to enter the product key from your newly purchased copy.
    []Driver Installation:
    • After installing Windows 7, you might need to install drivers for your hardware components. It's recommended to download the latest drivers from the hardware manufacturer's official website. Common drivers to install are for the motherboard, graphics card, network adapter, and audio devices.

    ]Activating Windows:
    • Once Windows is installed, activate it using the product key provided with your genuine copy. This should resolve the "not genuine software" notification.
  4. Windows Updates:
    • After activation, make sure to run Windows Update to download and install important updates, including Service Packs.

      Tips:

      • Product Key: Keep your new Windows 7 Pro 32-bit product key safe for future use.
      • Authentication: Genuine Windows software ensures access to updates and support.
