If your TSSTcorp DVD-ROM TS-H353B ATA drive is only recognized as a CD-ROM drive and is not reading DVDs of any kind (single layer, dual layer, etc.), there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue: 1. If already updated, try rolling back to the previous version to see if that resolves the issue. - You can also try uninstalling the driver and restarting your computer to let Windows reinstall it. 3. Check DVD Region: - Ensure that the DVD's region code matches the region code of your DVD-ROM drive. You can check the region setting of your drive in the Device Manager. 4. Check DVD Compatibility: - Verify that the DVDs you are trying to read are compatible with your DVD-ROM drive. Some older drives may have trouble reading newer formats. 5. Check for Firmware Updates: - Make sure you have the latest firmware for your TSSTcorp DVD-ROM drive. Check the manufacturer's website for any available updates and follow their instructions to update the firmware. 6. Clean the Drive: - Dust or dirt on the lens of the DVD-ROM drive can also cause reading issues. You can try cleaning the drive using a CD/DVD lens cleaning kit. 7. Check the Hardware: - If none of the software solutions work, the issue might be hardware-related. In this case, consider seeking professional help to diagnose and possibly replace the DVD-ROM drive. Try these steps one by one to see if any of them resolve the issue with your DVD-ROM drive not reading DVDs. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any other questions.
