Solution
Well, I don't think so. I think you can download Windows Live Mail from www.windowslive.com without registering, and you can use it without a Live Mail account.

to be honest people say you need a moderately well powered pc to run vista i went through all the beta stages and release candidates as well as the retail version. i managed with my copy of vista for 2 weeks and had enough of the crashing, not being able to get decent drivers and then we have all the background crap in vista that runs and when you disable it just end up getting pestered by guess again more crap. it is kinda irritating plus the fact my pc runs about 50% faster and my laptop seems twice as fast now im back on xp.

I'm a bit suprised Windows Mail is still there, given the release of Windows Live Mail. It's seems like that would be a relatively very easy thing that they would have done already.

Does Windows Live Mail actually require registering for any services? I have a Hotmail account, but I don't recall having to log in to get Windows Live Mail.

This is what the early longhorn looked like: http://www.winsupersite.com/reviews/longhorn_alpha.asp Looks familiar? It's exactly the same with Windows 7. Some time during the betas, we will get a new UI. http://www.winsupersite.com/reviews/longhorn_5048.asp
