I've recently followed this tutorial "" to set up a hotspot on my Windows 8.1 Laptop, everything went according to the tutorial and there were no errors. Other devices can easily see the network I just set up but the problem comes with actually trying to connect to it. It doesn't work. I did this so I could have a wifi signal for my Nintendo Switch but upon trying to connect, after a few seconds of trying to connect, it fails with the error "Unable to obtain IP address". I tried to connect on my iphone but it would just constantly try to connect and after a while say "No internet connection" underneath the network name. Anyone have any ideas to help? Thanks.

Run Windows Network Troubleshooter: - Use the Windows Network Troubleshooter to diagnose any connectivity issues and follow the suggested fixes. 5. Wireless Security Settings: - Review the wireless security settings to ensure that the security type and password requirements are compatible with the connecting devices. 6. Update Network Adapter Drivers: - Update the drivers for your laptop's network adapter to ensure compatibility and stability. 7. Try Different Devices: - Test the hotspot with other devices to see if the issue persists across different hardware. 8. Software Updates: - Ensure that Windows and any related hotspot software are up to date. 9. Reset and Reconfigure: - If all else fails, you may have to reset the hotspot settings and reconfigure to see if that resolves the connectivity issues. By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the connectivity issues preventing devices from obtaining an IP address and connecting to the hotspot successfully.
