I just purchased the Encore electronics 802.11g wireless pci adapter model ENLWI-G2 for my setup. I am able to get online with it but the internet is unusably slow. The drivers I'm using are vista 64 drivers. Windows 7 offered me an optional update and when I did the internet went completely offline. I reverted back to the vista drivers. I'm afraid you guys are going to say i need to wait for good Win7 drivers but I wanted to make sure it wasn't a setting or something like that that's giving me trouble. The network runs fast on two other wireless computer one of which is a laptop im using in the same room so I don't think its a location issue.

My system:
Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-UD5P
Phenom II 955 X4 BE oc to 3.6ghz
G-skill 1066 ddr2
Gigabyte 4870 1gb hdmi/display port

Update Drivers: - If you are not using the latest drivers specifically designed for Windows 7, it might be a good idea to update them. Manufacturers often release drivers tailored for different operating systems to ensure stability and performance. 4. Network Settings: - Check if there are any specific settings on your wireless adapter that could be causing the slow connection. Sometimes, adjusting settings like channel width, frequency band, or power-saving options can improve performance. 5. Compatibility Mode: - In some cases, running the driver installation in compatibility mode for Windows Vista might help if no Windows 7 drivers are available. Let's start by checking the status of the drivers on your system to see if there are any updates available or if any settings need adjustment. Would you like assistance with checking the driver status and making any necessary adjustments?
