📎 AI Summary:
The original poster is experiencing display scaling issues with Windows 7 Home Premium on an MSI Media Live, where the desktop remains at a customized resolution of 1440x974, but Windows Media Center switches to full HD (1920x1080), causing the interface to appear too large. Despite using display settings and automatic optimization, the issue persists when switching between environments, leading to frustration and a consideration of reverting to Windows XP. hi all this is my first post so please be gentle!

i have just loading home premium edition of Win 7 onto my MSI media Live, which i used as a PVR under my Telly in the lounge. setup was a doddle, but was is really doing my head in is this...

My TV is a Full HD Toshiba that can run at 1920 x 1080. and it is connect to the PC via HDMI.

in normal windows enviroment it is fine i have customised the display driver (nvidea) so the pc is outputting at 1440 x 974. This fills the screen pretty well perfectly.

but when i go into MCE it goes to the Full HD ie 1920 x 1080. i have then gone to settings, TV Display and changed it, Windows 7 has an automatic optimiser, and this when run, puts the media Center enviroment, but when you go back to watch the TV or anything else the image is too big again, for example the guide runs off the screen, so it seems to have gone back to 1920x1080.

this is doing my head in.... im on the points of putting windows Xp back on!!

please help.
