I recently purchased the parts to build my brother a new computer, which I pieced together this week. When I connected the new LCD screen with build-in speakers to the on-board video card on the mother board (to make sure I was posting before connecting the "real" video card), the speakers worked flawlessly. However, once I connected the LCD to the new video card (which displays perfectly) the build-in speakers ceased to work. Other than this, the entire construction went smoothly and everything works properly.

- The headphone jacks (front & back) work fine.
- The Realtek HD Audio Management that came with the mother board does not recognize any devices as being connected with the new video card, but did detect the build-in speakers with the on-board video card.

I'm unsure of the technical terms, but the LCD screen has a blue 15 pin connector which matches the receptor on the built-in video card. To connect to the new video card I need an adapter to change the blue 15 pin connector to a 16 pin white/gray connector.

re

So what was your question? is it a HDMI card?
Did you buy one of those ATI cards that already have a sound codec integrated?
perhaps you should look into that if thats the case.
