Solution
I know it has been 2 weeks, so you may not be watching this thread any more. But I was wondering, since I do not have a laptop, if you check Settings on the Charm panel, of the 6 icons on the bottom of the panel, the top right one is for brightness. Does yours say it can be adjusted, or Unavailable?
