It drove me crazy for a week but the problem is caused by a defective driver in either a printer or other auxilliary device. To test this bring your machine up in safe mode and see if IE will stay on and not crash. If it does then the culprit is a recently installed driver. Mine was the Lexmark wirelss printer I had bought. Good luck!
