📎 AI Summary:
The thread discusses issues with a Java application used for remote building access after upgrading from Windows 8.1 preview to the final release. The original poster notices that the app worked with IE 11 in the preview but stopped functioning after the update, suspecting both the OS upgrade and IE update. Contributors suggest trying a different browser and contacting Java, but the user reports no alternative app options and is temporarily using TeamViewer to manage the connection.

With the evaluation copy of 8.1 the java app I used to connect to operate the building I work at remotely, worked fine. With the final 8.1 install, I can no longer run the app. I noticed Internet Explorer 11 (which worked with my java app) was also updated. As I can't seem to install the older version, I'm wondering if the IE 11 update is what broke the java app or the 8.1 final update. Any Ideas?

Is there an alternative app you can use to meet your needs?
Unfortunately nothing else will work. I'm currently using Team Viewer to connect to my desktop PC at home to make the connection. It's running Win 7. I'll keep trying and report back with success or failure. Thanks
