Hello,
Recently I had been facing a few problems with my computer as it had started to lag and disk usage had spiked to 100%. In attempt to solve this problem, I tried to boot in safe mode using msconfig.exe.

Having done so, my computer refuses to boot anymore. After my dell initialisation screen, the windows8 profile screen comes up and the place where my name should be is totally blank. I haven't been able to log in ever since. Rebooting doesn't help.

  • How many users are on this computer... local or microsoft id accounts?

  • what options did you enable for the safe boot?
An image from 'Unable to boot into my computer (Windows8)'. System Configuration window showing Boot tab set to Windows 8 as default with Safe boot enabled.
