Windows 7 User cannot be seen in Homegroup or network

check the homegroup settings there are options i.e file sharing etc, one of them is visibility

i didnt see file sharing under homegroup settings ...but i made a little headway..i turned off Homegroup on the laptop and just logged in normally through the network on the desktop now i can see my user....then i rejoined Homegroup and can still my user...hope it sticks
