Since upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 the computer is not always waking up from sleep and hangs

The only solution I have found is to turn off the power and reboot

The wait cursor shows and the computer will not respond to any keys such as Ctrl Alt Delete or the Windows Key

Any solution or suggestions welcomed

Thank you for the reply, the problem has only occurred since the upgrade to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8

Under Windows 8 before the upgrade, the problem was not occurring
