I keep trying to update Windows Live Eseential but it tells me to turn on my firewall and it is on. I tried to uninstall and reinstall and it did but didn't load Windows Live Mail. That is the client I use. I loaded Thunderbird and it couldn't find my contacts. So....I restored to 2 days earlier and I am back to square one. What do I do next?

have you tried updating your windows live essential using windows update?
simply run your windows update and make sure that updates for WLE are selected.

Contacted MS support and they encountered same error. Said error is in installer and they are working on it.
