I have win 7 already installed and would like to know if I can install another legit copy on another partition.

No problem dual boot setup is the same whether for two different op systems or two copies of the same one. (Provided that they have different serials of course).

My only suggestion to you is o use EasyBCD after installing and edit the name of one or both of the boot options, otherwise they'll both be simply titled "Windows 7". The newest installation will be marked as default.
