Windows 7 win7 bootable flash problem

hey guys, i tried to create a bootable flash install of windows seven on a reformated hard drive, the flash drive (16gb) was brand new and formated to ntfs, i followed the instructions from this link:

tried to boot from it and got the message "operating system missing", any ideas why this might not have worked? thanks.

Is your Bios set up to look at flash drives as part of the boot order?

yes, boot order was flash first

There is also a tutorial in this forum by Trouble about how to make a bootable flash.

What did you use to make the drive bootable, Diskpart and bootsect /nt60?

Where did you copy the Windows 7 files from?

There may also be a setting in the bios for allowing boots from USB devices in addition to the boot order, each one is different.

yes diskpart to make the sector active then bootsect /nt60 to make compatible boot record, i got the files from demonoid
