I downloaded windows 10 upgrade from windows 7 on 8/2 and I still cannot activate after several calls to the answer desk/ My product code has been verified by them as good and I have been told to wait 24 to 48 hours several times. Still not able to activate. How much longer do I have to wait?

How to Force Activation
Step 1: Bring up the Start Menu and search for Command Prompt. Right-click it and select Run as administrator from the context menu.

Step 2: In the Command Prompt, type the text: slmgr.vbs –rearm and press Enter to execute.

Step 3: Close the Command Prompt window and reboot your PC.

To be clear, You must upgrade to 10 first... if you try a fresh install without having first done the full upgrade your activation will always fail.

It is a pain, but mentioning if you used Windows 7 SP1 might be relevant. I don't know what happens if someone does try to update to the Original Windows 7 so not sure if your situation could be caused by that.
