We have Windows 7 and use Windows Live Mail for E Mail. Today for no apparent reason our contacts are messed up. My wife had a lot of them separated into different groups. One group that had 43 contacts may have only 8. All the groups have less than they bare supposed to. What could have happened?
Recently made a major housing move - in the process of crazy packing, boxing up, redoing living area, I lost my drive on my desktop to who knows what. Old age maybe. 5 year old desktop. Anyway, I have since replaced the drive and many of the older files that I had backed up on an external drive...
Hi
This isn't really a request for help, more curiosity.

Backing up on ssd would be safer than hdd because no moving parts correct? So ssd failure rate is lower so just wondering how is it possible to lose data on ssd?
Hi.
In the past few days I've been getting errors for my secondary (D:) Drive (HDD) from Windows. So, windows keeps telling me to restart my PC to fix drive errors. But when I restart, it does nothing, so I just ignored it because everything seemed fine... until recently...

This does not happen when I just copy files using the native Windows copy or TeraCopy.
The programs...

An Acer Aspire.
I put Win7 Ultimate on it but it hasn't taken. Always gives me an error message and asks for the install disk again - which was a USB stick - but when i provide it nothing changes.
So I need to get it off and start again.

Here's a story for ya.
Yesterday I decided to give Windows 10 a shot because of what all my friends were saying. "OHHH ITS AMAZEBALLZ" "SOOOOOO AWSM" and such. The upgrade took a few hours but was well worth it. The programmes were exactly where I left them along with everything else. The new...

Do ya'll use Bit Locker? All NSA and Microsoft backdoor, giving the keys to the government, talk aside.
I'm more interested in encrypting my drive to keep my information safer, in case it's stolen or some type of malware gets on.
I'm interested in hearing people's experiences using it. Did you...
