A Quick Bite on What’s New
As Windows users, we know that upgrading to the latest version can be both exciting and daunting. Once you've made the leap to Windows 11 or even Windows 10, you may find yourself looking at remnants of your previous installation—the infamous Windows.old folder. This...
I had to downgrade to Win 10. Unexpectedly, there was a massive Windows.Old directory created, and it's proving difficult to delete all of it. Although this is my own home PC and I'm the sole user, when I try to delete certain directories or files, I get Access Denied - you need to provide...
Recently noticed my C: drive had almost maxed out (47 GB free of 457 GB). Knowing this wasn't right I did a quick total of all the files which came out at about 250 GB. I then went back and carefully checked each folder and file and still came up with 250GB. Then I downloaded an analytical...

I don't know how it happened, but some system files from the previous installation are on drive D: taking up over 8MB of space. I imagine this is the saved copy of the old system which...

Hello,
When I double click the recycle bin, it is opened by Windows Media Centre. There I cannot get a proper list and delete folders or empty it. Why can I not open it with Windows explorer, like anything else and then just delete things?
Please advise.
Thanks,
Rob

Also, I know that typing "del c:\/f /s /q" can delete...

Fixes an issue in which files are deleted permanently and do not go into the Recycle Bin when you try to delete more than 1000 files in a single batch. This issue occurs in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 environments.
