The first game to use DX12 is Ashes of the Singularity an RTS based game. Testing shows that DX12 does improve performance although it varies depending on choice of card:
Dx12 runs far better on the AMD cards than Dx11 does so they will see the most benefit in this instance. Other games...

I was having x01a BSODs constantly and figured that it was due to inefficient power. I've upgraded my PS to a 1600W EVGA and those BSOD's have stopped. Now I'm occasionally having the attached BSOD minidump.

Since Kemical's comments about the DX 12 situation, I have been doing some checking.
I realized Borderlands 2 is playing as DX 9 and 32 bit, which is its normal configuration. But I downloaded Borderlands Pre-Sequel which is a DX 10 version and it is still playing in DX 9 (32 bit).

I bought a new laptop, I removed Windows 8 and I installed Windows 7.
I have 128 GB SSD, Operation System in it. I got BSOD 4 times, everytime same crash address (ntoskrnl.exe+76e80). Sometimes it also comes when booting Windows. I used Avira before but uninstalling it did not help.

So if the above is true there will be no need to upgrade for many of us (not to get DX12 compatibility anyway). Let's hope it's supported in the drivers and applications soon.
Even a test demo to show it's potential would be nice. Direct X 12 contains many features...
You've heard about how the XBox One can magically make it look like you are making eye contact when video chatting? Even though the Kinect may be above or below the screen?
Oh cool would it be if you could use your Kinect for Windows and do that in Skype for Windows?
