I have a dell processor running at 2.18GHz with 4 GB of ram. When I got it I just used a 32 bit version of Vista. I am now ready to install Windows 7 and was wondering if there would be a probem of installing a 64 bit version of Windows 7 over my 32 bit version of Vista. One thing that I...

I realise this will make me seem somewhat dinosaur-like, but for a very good reason, I would like to install Win 7 on a Fat32 partition. I cannot find any way to do so. Can anyone provide a means to do this, even perhap using Partition Magic or Acronis etc to convert the partition to Fat 32...
I recently fixed an Acer laptop for a friend of mine. The disk was almost full, and the registry was corrupted - this laptop was running VISTA - so this problem may be a part of both vista and 7.
The registry was no hope for, so I used a Linux live CD to copy some files (backup) to an external...

I have a flash drive that has been sitting around for awhile, I finally decided to do somehting with it, and low and behold, its FAT32. Obviously, Vista had some serious issues with FAT32 flash drives, but I had high hopes for 7. It worked the first time I inserted it, and then when I tried to...

Hi guys
just tested trying to install W7 on a FAT disk -- no-go it appears it will only install on NTFS although it can read / write FAT32 disks (and FAT 16 if you still have them --maybe some SD cards etc).
There's no reason anymore to use FAT32 anyway - even LINUX can read / write NTFS as...
Hi guys
This post doesn't relate to W7 per se but I'm putting it here since it could be of use whilst you are testing.
Hopefully everybody is making backups and I know some of you use large USB external drives. These are generally formatted with FAT32 and the problem now arises if you want to...

First off:
I have ONE hard drive to work with here (not counting the fact that I'm on another computer to type this up)
I can partition/format that hard drive ANY way required.
The hard drive is currently partitioned as such:
40~GB NTFS (partition 1, empty), 7GB NTFS (.isos contained here)...
