When I enter a search word in WE under LIBRARIES it just sits there.
If I do it in the actual folder (My Documents) it searches immediately.
At some point in the past it would search but never find anything, now it doesn't even search.

Hi guys,
I have a nasty problem with my brand new Windows 7 Ultimate. Yesterday, I installed it on my desktop and it works perfectly, no single problem! Today, I install 7 on my laptop and installation doesn't cause any problem, so far so good. BUT, when I turn my laptop on, it takes more than...
I have a strange issue I could not find online.
When I type anything in the searchbox in "Start Menu", all I get is a strange empty icon which doesn't do anything.
If for example I type in "CMD" it'll show an item called "Programs"
If I type anything that would be found in a document, it shows...
I'm hoping someone can demystify my issue here.

I am rapidly tiring of windows 7 search. I does seem to resemble Vista more and more and not for anything good.
I have added .tps to the index, and now Windows 7 will find that file type when searching. Sort of... Thing is - Windows 7 won't recognize the size of these files - they show up as 0...
Even after installing Adobes PDFiFilter64installer.zip and re-indexing PDF files are not properly indexed.

I'm talking about the start button (orb) search built into the start menu - it's HORRIBLE! I just installed 7 the other day, and I immediately noticed the search is severely lacking when compared to Vista. One major thing that seems to be missing is searching the control panel...
Documents that I saved remained in the Wordpad recent documents for a couple of days, then disappeared, then a search found no trace of the documents. Indexing is on for the whole drive. They are not in any folders that I can find.
And a perhaps related problem - the Library had labeled both...
Win7 takes a giant leap backward-- you can't index network drives! XP's desktop search did this fine. Googling shows Vista had a patch to fix this-- but not Windows 7.
