I got used to the Metro version of IE in Windows 8.1 and actually like it. Now, in Windows 10, I can't find any way to get that look and feel. Is there any way to get that Windows 8.1 Metro version of IE in Windows 10?
Thanks for any help.
Jim
I just set up a brand new laptop running Windows 8.1. I am not new to Windows. I have been using it since the first version came out and WAS very familiar with the Windows file structure. I don't seem to be able to find much of anything in Windows 8.1.
My husband would like me to create a...
I just set up a brand new laptop running Windows 8.1. I am not new to Windows. I have been using it since the first version came out. Since I will be using this for work and would like it to run as efficiently as possible, I installed Start8, so I can just use the start menu and not have to...
I have a computer clean installed with Windows 8.1 Pro, it had Windows 7 installed on it but I formated it and installed Windows 8. Anyways, boot time is very fast as the Fast Boot helps it make it fast, of course. But after booting a day later without going on it, it shows the boot screen...

My two weeks with two Windows 8 computers - one computer and one laptop.
It's my very short story about Windows 8.
Three months ago, I purchased a new computer with Windows 7 for my work . It has Intel Core i7-3770 and 8.0 GB RAM. During those months, I had ZERO issues with my computer...

:apologetic: I know if I am in the Metro, I can press the window button to go back to the desktop. But I read about a cheat, that you press the win key, it will get you back to desktop, if you press it again, it will take you back to the AP you were currently on. This does not work for me...
Hi
I forgot how much work it is to really start over with a new computer.
But I think I have everything installed and set up.
It took longer because I started off using the Metro interface, but I finally gave up on it and did things the way I'm used to.
Here's my desktop.
I run virtually...

Hi !
First thread on this forum and new user of Windows 8 for the last 5 days. I installed Win 8 RP on my Acer Iconia tab W500 and I have a little annoying problem with the touch pad. When I go in Internet Explorer (regular version desktop, not in Metro) and I "click" on the seach field of...
One of the more controversial aspects of Windows 8 is that the Start button has disappeared altogether — a conscious choice by Microsoft to encourage people to adopt and use the Metro interface. There’s not much chance of it officially returning, but there is a minor replacement of sorts built...

Many of us, who like to futz around with our PC's, not just appliance operators, like to get into our Control Panels every once in a while.
But Win-8 doesn't make that as easy as it was in XP.
However there is a way to get to the control panel in Win-8.
Here's one way:

I have a triple monitor set up with my primary monitor on a Radeon HD 4850 and the two secondary monitors on a Radeon 2600XT. Both Internet Explorer and the metro interface turn black when I move them over to either of the secondary monitors. However those are the only two things with issues...
We have been saying all along that you can opt out of the tiles interface in Windows 8. Mark Kaelin shows you the registry tweak to make it happen.

I run an NVIDIA GTX480 Graphics Card. I am using the 285.27 Beta Graphics Driver that nvidia released on the 13th. So far the driver has run pretty smooth except for when i am in the metro interface and moving around it quickly. Like lets say I quickly scroll right and then quickly change back...
