Hi,
I try to run old application with 16 bit on my windows 8.1 32bit.
I read that there is option in control panel to enable 16 bit, and found that icon, but when I press the icon I get this message in the picture. what should I do?
Thanks!!
Not sure where to post this thread, sorry if in wrong spot.

I have Win 7 on our laptop - he has Windows XP.
Is that...
suggestion.
for the settings, it would be awesome if there was a program allowed that we could accept and it did a scan of our computer and put all that information on there?

Hi all, I have an ancient copy of Foxpro for Windows 2.6 from the early 1990s that I've moved from PC to PC over the years. I don't reinstall from original disks; I just copy the program's directory into \program files\ and it's worked fine on systems up to and including XP3. I did need to...

One of the things you may discover is that not all of your older programs/games/drivers will work under 7, and their 7 compliant versions may not be availabe. In this case, you can try install and run them in Vista (or XP) compatible mode. To run a file in compatibility mode:

I have installed Windows 7-64 and it is running fine. Some of my very old programs will not work in Win 7.
Can I install Win XP on another drive in the system and use it for older software? Do I need to do a special format of the other drive, like maybe Fat-32 only or install an even older ver...
Hi,
I understand the need to do a clean install with Windows 7 when upgrading from XP, but here is my question. I have Windows XP 32-bit home edition and am pondering doing the Windows 7 upgrade student offer, the problem is that the Student offer makes you explicitly choose 32-bit or 64-bit...
My new PC is 64 bit my older ones have been 32 bit. I had one program I really wanted that I couldn't install. I suspected just a 16 bit installer but the maker of software no longer in business. Tonight it finally dawned on me to try Easy transfer and it worked! Homer Simpson finally figured...
I have an old program called REGENIE.
I do a search with that and it shows me registry entries under HKLM/Software/Intuit
