My question is, this will probably break something, so what steps should I take to fix things up after I delete and move stuff around like that?
I am trying to go back to win 7 ult from win 10.
My computer is a HP 8200 sff (refurb) with:
i5 3.2GHZ processor
8G RAM
1 TB HDD
The problem is getting rid of the win 10 partitions. Most disk wiping utilities either don't have partition editing capabilities or are not set up for the win 10...
Hey guys,
So I have Ubuntu on my PC, I tried it and I don't like it. My PC was originally windows. I downloaded the ISO file, so how can I install it and replace Ubuntu?
I really didn't expect this.
I had a 3tb drive that was partitioned into two smaller drives. I decided to dump both and bring the drive back into a full drive, obviously losing one drive letter.
The problem now, is I neglected to delete all the quick access shortcuts. I use these quite a bit...
I got a 5tb drive, and since I wanted it to be one large partition I used gpt. Windows recognized the disk, formatted it, and let me copy files. But when I restarted windows it froze on the "starting windows" screen. I figured out after some messing around that unplugging the drive lets windows...
Hello,
My C drive is almost full, 6 GB left now. I tried using EaseUS application to expand, but no use. I think because I have 2 different Disks. Disk 1 is the C drive which is almost full, and Disk 2 is my D drive, it has 300GB left, I want to take some from D drive to my C drive. Anyone...

I am trying a clean install of Windows 7, having upgraded to Windows 10, but experience some annoying bugs.
Anyway, I bought a new PC without an operating system, then an OEM copy of Windows 7 :-/
So, after attempting this clean install, I got to the stage after...

Windows 10 created a drive "E" for data, that is completely full, but I have not put anything on it. I am getting warnings that this data drive is out of space.
Prior to Windows 10 installation, my 1TB data hard drive was unplugged. That drive was drive "E." When Windows 10 installed, it...

My situation is usually the opposite of what I've found online. I upgraded to Win 10 and I'm quite comfortable with it, the problem is that a critical application for my job does not work with this platform. As I have space, my preferred option is to dual boot with Win 10 and Win 8.1 on the...
I have recently replaced the hdd on my laptop with a 1TB disk
I did a clean installation of Windows 10 and then installed Norton Security Software for protection purposes
.
After that I tried to shrink the single partition (which is shown to contain around 30 GB) to 200 GB so that I could set...
For those of you who have SSDs, limited space, or just want to keep your user data on another drive or partition, I wanted to share the results of some experimentation as a followup to my own question on this subject.

Hello as I said in a thread ages ago I was having problems. I got a usb stick and made it into a win 10 installer but when I try to install I get my partitions and my main partition is bit locked and i cannot deactivate the bitlocker. So when I try to repair my pc from the stick it goes enter...
I have Windows 7 Ultimate and it allows you to make a folder for a bootable virtual HD instead of partitioning. You are running on actual hardware not in a virtual machine and dual booting and Windows 7 is still intact. Can windows 10 do this?
Joe
I'm sure the gurus know how to do this but it is a daunting task for normal users. So, it would be great if one of the many gurus here could provide step by step instructions for the rest of us to go from an existing 8.1 oem factory installation to a dual boot 8.1 and 10.
I've done some...
