I have the Opera browser setup. When I double click on the executable file, the UAC window pops up, asking me whether to allow changes by this app to my computer. Even if I click on 'No', the setup proceeds anyway and completes.
Why is this happening? Is this a problem? If yes, then what can I...
Hi All Expert,
Good day.
Like to check is there a way to sync my outlook 2013/2016 with other 3 users without the domain, exchange and office 365 but in the same network. As in 3-4 users can view each and other Calendar only, and able to make changes to oneself only. Appreciate if any expert...

Hello Everyone!
Recently from past 1 month I've been facing a problem after my Win10 update i.e I'm unable to copy or move any file from my Laptop to any of my External HDs. I am also unable to format those External HDs. I've tried everything; copy paste, drag & drop etc. I've even tried...
Is there a way to set 2 different sets of permissions for a single external HDD used on a windows 7 and a windows 10 computer so that the WIN 10 computer has full read write permissions but the WIN 7 can only read? The objective here is to reduce the chances of the WIN 10 computer, which needs...
I create several network drives.
I forget for some network drives the account I used to map the network drive.
How can I get the account that I used to map a network drive?
Where is the account of a network drive stored. In the registry?
Assume I have a file
D:\aaa\bbb\ccc\ddd.txt
Can this file inherit its owner from the wrapping folder?
Can folder ccc inherit its owner from the parent folder bbb?
Or is inheritance only applicable to access permissions and not to ownership?
Peter
I know this is a familiar problem, but the explanations I've seen for it are very lengthy, and they didn't seem to apply to my exact problem. Please advise.

When I inspect my file system some of my "normal" (=non system) folders then I can see owners like
"S-1-5-21-15185678....." or "S-1-5-21-107808153
Why do only approx 30% of all folders have "S-1-5-21-151..." as owner and all others "Administrator"?
I dislike these "S-1-5-21-......" owners and...

Is there a way to tell if you truly have Admin rights? Aside from checking your profile. Any way to confirm that you have absolute authority in Windows 10?
I've got home/office network of 7 computers (all on Win 10). Each computer has files in the public documents that needs to be accessed, with full control, by the other computers. Most all the computers communicate fine with one another, but I've got one computer (TOM) that can only read the...

Hello,
My problem is that I cannot open or even copy some files in the hard drive of my former laptop because of permission and owner issues.
To give you more context, I had a computer operating windows 7. The hard drive had a partition specific for saving data. My Pictures was set in this...
Situation: Secondary HDD contains previous installation's Windows folder which my current Win10 account cannot delete even as admin.
Solution: I'm assuming that I'd need to first take ownership then change the permissions to give full control.
However this is an old hard drive, and since my...
