Hi
Today one of my friends called and we were trying to fix his computer throwing a critical error every time he boots up.
Microsoft's solution it to boot into Safe Mode and then reboot back into normal mode again.
So I told him over the phone how to boot into safe mode using msconfig...

When I go to settings>accounts>sign-in options the screen is blank and all I see is dots running from left to right at the top of the window. What do I need to do to repair this?
The folder:

My friends were playing around with my old laptop which was an Acer aspire v5 with a core i3 by trying to guess my pin. No matter how many times they tried, it wouldn't lock or anything. I got that laptop replaced because it was malfunctioning. The replacement was practically the same model but...

Can 8.1 only be connected by using an 8 digit pin? I can't find any other way to do this.
I have heard that 8.1 has eliminated WPA, so maybe the pin automatically does WPA2? TOTALLY unclear!!! But it seems that WPA2 should have a longer entry than 8 digits!?!
