Hi all
I know i can upgrade from vista to 7 but what i want to do is keep the recovery partition for vista in place on the hard drive and format drive C to do a clean install of windows 7.
Is this possible or will windows 7 alter the recovery partition when i install.
Thanks in advance.
Hi all, im not really a computer wizz and dont know what exactly to do here.
I have never liked vista at all ever. i throught i would give it a whirl to download (windows 7). I have a duo boot menu log in now, which i think is perfect. Window vista or Windows 7.

I would like to switch back to Windows XP from the Windows 7 I recently installed yesterday. I've had nothing but driver issues since it's installation. It doesn't recognize my monitor resolution, Aero doesn't work with my chipset, which basically makes Windows 7 look like an amateur Linux...
You might want to Tarentino this one, my question is at the end and you could read backwards as information is needed.... I have never posted a thread but the one thing I know is that there are a lot of smart people out there who want to help, but there is never enough info. If you have some...

Windows 7 includes its own pretty little recovery partition, which uses a non-standard format (UGGH!). I'd like to remove it from my laptop multiboot system. Anyone know if this will cause problems? I use GRUB as my bootloader.
The tail end of my grub file looks like this:
title Windows 7...
Hello there, I am running Windows 7 on the partition that I labeled "Win7Beta". The drive letter appears in Windows Vista as "W" drive. (I am running Windows Vista and Windows 7 Beta on the same computer, but different partitions.) Also in Vista, the Local Disk appears as "C" drive and the...
Hey everyone!
So I clean installed W7 earlier this week. I then tried to install Ubuntu 8.10 to a totally free space (40gb) on the same drive; my c: drive.
the Ubuntu install itself went off without a hitch! however...

I'm really enjoying Windows 7 but a lot of my key programs don't work so I've decided to switch back to XP using my recovery partition. Prior to this installation I had an option at boot that would tell me to press F11 (I think) to start the recovery console.
That option is now gone. However...
