So I called the number. They said to take my computer to Best Buy and have them do an OTR, run an infection sweep, do a malware removal and a full system tune- up then buy Stopzilla for $99.00 and have that installed because my MacAfee is worthless. He said it would cost about $350.00. My...

Hi
This just popped up on my screen, I made a screen shot and then closed the window.
Now I'm running Malwarebytes.
What wasn't captured by the Snipping Tool was the giant red flashing message that said, "Critical Crash!" in the header of the window.

A friend of mine was taken in this afternoon on a scam phone call. The person who rung up told him that he had trojans on his computer and they were killing the websites he was going too. If he paid the scamers $250 they would remove them for him. You get the picture....

I recently made a support call to what I thought was HP customer support. The rep that answered tried to convince me I had a virus in my hard drive and that I needed to purchase Microsoft Forefront Security Service.
At this point I ended the call, however I did foolishly allow the rep to access...

Hang up if a person with an accent calls telling you that you are receiving malware as you speak and tells to you to enter eventvwr which is event viewer in the run box.
It is a scam by Global Inc.
I downloaded a couple of movies and when I tried to play it I get a message to download webxvid codec to watch it. I download a codec-setup-123 but it still doesn't play the videos.I think it was just a scam cause nothing happens,is there a way to play this video?
A company called Acadia Global is still trying to tell poeople that their pcs are getting infected and they can fix it for a price. It is a known scam dating back to at least 12/12.
Go to the FBI at www.ic3.gov and report it if it hapens to you. Do not give any money or information.
After posting my problems twice in the last five hours or so to seek at least a glimmer of help, I have concluded that this entire website is totally bogus and exists for the sole purpose of sending popup hover scam windows to anyone trying to gain useful information.
Just posting for those that have Amazon associated with your ordering email address.
just this past week, I have received a couple of order update notices that looked like it came from Amazon, and sure enough it's faked. Since I used this particular email address for order notification, it was...
OK, I'm helping a distant family member with a Windows 7 security issue. (Using Teamviewer, which is GREAT.) I'm a Mac guy, so I'm really clueless about PC malware, though I'm reasonably impressed with Win 7 and can get around in it.
Their system has been working fine, but (and this is...
