When I try reducing the resolution, everything, especially text, gets quite blurry. My video card is a GeForce 8500GT and the...

Prior to installing Windows 7, my computer resolution maxed out at 1024 x 800. After installing Windows 7, my computer resolution maxes out at 1024 x 768. As a result, the screen appears very blury and somewhat squished. How can I fix this?
I did all the necessary preliminary steps (backups, defragmented, driver updates, etc.) before starting to install Windows 7 this morning on my HP Pavillion desktop computer that has VISTA on it. Everything looked good for the install. The installation program said that my computer was good for...
I have Windows 7 Home Premium and have been using it on my Del 720 XPS with no issues for a month now. Today, while browsing, the screen flickered and the resolution dropped to 1024x768 and my sound stopped working.

Thanks In advance. Mitchell:p
The Personalize and Screen Resolution applets do not work.
When I click on them I get the message:

Recently upgraded to windows 7 and in many ways I like it a lot. I went right from xp to 7 so maybe the downsides I have are holdovers from that stepchild. Dual screening in 7 is horrible. Many of my applications that I used to run spread across both screens or nearly across both screens fail to...
