Micron's latest breakthrough in storage technology is setting new benchmarks in the industry. In a recent series of tests conducted at DesignCon 2025, Micron, in collaboration with Astera Labs, unveiled the world's first PCIe 6.0 solid-state drive (SSD) reaching an unprecedented read speed of...
If my hand hits the USB 3.0 enclosure case after ejecting and safely removing hardware in Windows, does this shock cause friction between the 2.5" HDD heads and the magnetic disks?
I use USB 3.0 enclosure Kesu 2530 and Orico 25PW1 black + 2.5" HDDs Seagate ST500LM030, WDC WD10JPVX-08JC3T5 and APPLE HDD HTS541010A99E662 I used Windows eject "safely remove hardware", the letter E: in Windows disappears and the USB3.0 cable remains connected to the enclosure/PC after ejection...
I finished copying the files to my 2.5" external HDD. I ejected the HDD in Windows 10 but the enclosure case LED was on and then I went to pull the USB 3.0 cable but when the cable came out of the PC port my hand hit the side of the HDD case and the case moved slightly to the right of the table...
Shingled Magnetic Recording drives have a bad name, and rightly so if you need to write continuously for more than a couple of minutes, because the firmware just can't cope and frequently grinds to a halt for a few seconds. As someone who always buys NAS HDD's for their longevity and durability...

The only thing I can say it has not a new USB-C plugin and its capacity.
But what I want to know is the highest support USB version.
So if it is USB 3.0 or USB 3.1 or only USB 2.0
How can I find it out?
I guess via right...
I have connected my computer through USB 3.0 cable with an external (backup) hard disk (Hitachi HDS724040ALE640, SATA III, 7200rpm, 4TB, NTFS formatted, empty).

Whenever I plugin an USB flash drive or USB hard disk then these devices are recognized by Win10 successfully.
But they appear always two times in File Explorer:
- As an entry on root level
- as an entry below "This PC"
The drive label is the same e.g. "USB Dive (F: )"
How can I disable this...

Here is the background. I took and put a SSD as C: drive on a HP Pavilion and put that HD (ST750LM022 HN-M7) into the CD drive bay which makes the HD drive D:. Did the share of that drive, right click...
