Solutions to Fix Windows Explorer Crashing Issue:

  1. Disable Context Menu Items: Some third-party software can add context menu items that may cause conflicts. You can use a tool like "ShellExView" to disable non-Microsoft context menu items to see if any of them are causing the crash.
  2. Run System File Checker (SFC): This tool scans and repairs corrupted system files. Open a command prompt as an administrator and run the command: sfc /scannow.
  3. Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your system is up to date. Go to Control Panel > Windows Update and check for any available updates.
  4. Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated graphics drivers can sometimes cause such issues. Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer and download the latest drivers.
  5. Perform a Clean Boot: This will help you determine if any third-party services or startup items are causing the problem. Instructions for performing a clean boot can be found here.
  6. Check Event Viewer: Look for related error messages in the Event Viewer to get more detailed information about the crash.
  7. Create a New User Profile: Sometimes issues are related to a corrupted user profile. Create a new user profile and see if the issue persists there. Try these steps and see if any of them help resolve the problem. If the issue persists, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
