Hello,

After playing some graphics intensive game (Heroes of Newerth, RF Online, etc.), when I exit the game, BSOD always occur, annoying...

Though there are times that I am able to exit the game without BSOD, but this happens rarely.

Any help would be appreciated

RAM is set wrong, currently 1067Mhz 7-7-7-19 - compare this with the official rated specs written on your RAM sticks, RAM package, or on the RAM manufacturer's web site.

(You got 2 sticks from one batch and 1 from another. But this shouldn't be a problem as long as the rates are the same).

This driver is safe enough, but a more up to date version would be a plus.

You got MSE and Malwarebytes - good.

Update those drivers I listed, but to emphasize, RAM is likely the real culprit:

RAM is set wrong, currently 1067Mhz 7-7-7-19 - compare this with the official rated specs written on your RAM sticks, RAM package, or on the RAM manufacturer's web site.

(You got 2 sticks from one batch and 1 from another. But this shouldn't be a problem as long as the rates are the same).

Hello cybercore,

Thanks for the diagnosis. How can I set the RAM setting?

RAM specs are written on your RAM sticks, RAM package, or on the RAM manufacturer's web site.
Enter bios setup to set the DRAM options in strict accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. Often, "Auto" will do. Sometimes you'll need to set certain DRAM values manually (such as voltage), as stated by the manufacturer.

Hello,

Can't find any good reference about the RAM setting. Btw, my RAMs are 3x 2GB Kingston KVR DDR3 1333Mhz.

Currently set up with RAM timing of 9-9-9-24 from Link Removed due to 404 Error.

Haven't updated any drivers yet

Old drivers needing updates:

...

ATI Cataslyst 10.12
atikmdag.sys Thu Nov 25 21:46:44 2010
(AMD Game Forums - 10.12 blue screen error problem)

From the link you gave me, most atikmag.sys problems encountered downgraded their ATI Catalyst back to 10.11 or earlier.

After restarts from uninstalling the latest ATI Catalyst and using Driver Sweeper to clean left files, screen does not pass the Windows loading part (where the Windows logo is in the center). I tried waiting for more than 15mins in that part thinking there is just a driver slowly being loaded, but no results. Even pressing the restart many times, windows does not load.

I am able to load windows again after a System Restore in which the latest ATI Catalyst will be used again. Tried uninstalling ATI again, same result

Or no, need to explain again,

AMD Game Forums - 10.12 blue screen error problem

That's because Cat 10.12 was the latest then, now Cat 11.2 WHQL is out.

Let's do one test, go to Control Panel > Device Manager > disable ATI card > reboot. Try it out for a while with the card disabled.
Does your system crash when the videocard is disabled?

Sorry about that, I was going through each step when I reported the uninstalling of ATI

Attached are the memory and RAMmon exported as text file (weird I can't upload the html file)

Btw, I tried this
"Control Panel > Device Manager > disable ATI card", there are two devices in the Display adapters, 1. Air Display Graphics Adapter 2. ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series. I disabled the ATI Radeon and the screen went blank. had to restart and load windows with last known good configuration to fix this.

Your RAM is currently set 1068Mhz - wrong!

You got 3 Kingstons rated DDR1333Mhz 9-9-9-24 1.5v, that's what you need to set it.

Something to note, 1 stick is of Week 31 of Year 2010, another one is Week 53 of Year 2009, and the third one is Week 52 of Year 2009 - they are identical but not from the same batch.

Now how to set it in the bios in case you're not sure:

1. set dram 'auto', or set it manually DDR1333Mhz 9-9-9-24 1.5v
2. or instead load setup/optimized defaults
3. save and reboot
4. re-attach CPU-Z memory tab so I can see the new settings

Hello there,

Initially I bought 2 sticks on 2009, then I bought a 3rd stick in 2010.

Also, from the start, the RAM setting is set to 'auto'. I then manually set it to 9-9-9-24. I'll try the load setup/optimized defaults.

Here are the new settings.

Btw, after rebooting and loading the default setting, I then manually set the timing again to 9-9-9-24 and tried increasing the Memory Ratio in the bios until the Adjusted DRAM Frequency is 1333 from 1066.

I then found out that the DRAM frequency in CPU-Z must be x2 to match the frequency of the RAM sticks

memory_default is the load default/optimized setting
mem_1333 is the manually set and increased memory ratio

Hello,

the image mem_1333 is also from my pc where I manually set to 9-9-9-24 and increased the Memory ratio. So I guess I will have to use that one

If your motherboard supports DDR1333, then you don't need to play with the ratio. Just set DRAM 1333.

Hello there,

My motherboard is an MSI X58 Pro, I think it can support DDR1333

Btw, as you already noticed, I am not familiar with RAM frequency setting, I apologize for the irritation I might have caused you.

Attached are the pictures I took of the BIOS, so you will have a visual reference about it
