Windows 7 BSOD after reinstallation

New Member
I recently reinstalled W7 after quite a while using it. Since my reinstallation BSOD happens at least once a day (not at all before), usually at start up or when the computer goes to sleep mode. tried to google the problem quite extensively but without sollutions that I understand or so.

I use a HP DV7-2129eo with W7 64-bit home premium.

According to the error log, the following is the problem:

Problemsignatur:

Hi utanfantasi and Welcome to The Forum.

We really need to see the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:
Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

The .dmp files are located at C:\Windows\Minidump. Until a .dmp file is generated, the Minidump folder may not exist.

Go to your C:\Windows\Minidump folder. Copy the .dmp files to a new folder on your desktop. Zip up that folder and attach to a post.

Please see: How to ask for help with a BSOD problem Following Method 2:
Download
and run the SF Diagnostics Tool. Right click the SF Diag tool and select Run as Administrator before running. When the reports have been created, zip them up and attach to a post.

Download and run CPU-Z. Take screenshots**/snips of the CPU tab, Mainboard tab, Memory tab and all the slot #'s under the SPD tab.
Go to Post Reply, click on the Go Advanced button and attach the screenshots**/snips to your post for all the RAM experts to see by using the paper clip you will find on the top toolbar. Do not zip them up.
**
If screenshots, please crop.

When attaching dmp files, PLEASE put them in a single zipped folder

I'm no good at reading dump files, but this is often caused by a bad/corrupt or missing driver. That's been my experience when re-installing or clean installing of any Windows OS. You can open the Device Manager, and check each device (be sure to expand the list). Check the dates of the installed drivers also. You can do a Bing/Google search on each component, followed by the make & model of the computer & installed version of Windows. Be sure to include the bit version.

Some drivers that comes from Windows Update are old, some as old as 2001 or older, depending on the device. Especially with USB drivers. The OEM of the computer should have the original drivers, I've found your model here:

Link Removed - Invalid URL

Those drivers should at least get you going. There may be updated versions elsewhere, HP is bad for not posting the latest ones. Hope this helps.

Sorry to say that the suggested method really doesn't make sense to me. I've tried so search drivers but really without any good results.

The problem is still the same so hopefully someone can read the dump file and tell me what to do.

Hi utanfantasi.

You still looking for help? Post back or PM me!! You've a fair few old drivers in there.

Usual causes:
???

Your dump file lists csrss.exe as the probable cause.
This is the Windows Client Server Runtime Process and for it to be the cause of your crash is highly unlikely.
Old and incompatible drivers can and do cause issues with Windows 7, often giving false error codes.
Random stop codes can often indicate hardware issues.

Drivers that pre-date Windows 7. Update:

AtiPcie.sys Tue May 05 16:00:22 2009 ATI PCIE Chipset Driver. Go to Mobo Mfr. or AMD. There's a March 2010 set here.

enecir.sys Mon Jun 29 03:17:30 2009 ENE Consumer IR Driver for eHome OEM

GEARAspiWDM.sys Mon May 18 13:17:04 2009 Gear Software CD-ROM Class Filter Driver v4.019.1 (Oct 2011). Also loads with iTunes

HpqKbFiltr.sys Wed Apr 29 14:48:30 2009 HP Keyboard Filter driver

Rt64win7.sys Fri May 22 15:52:30 2009 Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller v7.050 If you're unsure about manually installing drivers then choose the Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Auto Installation Program (SID:1483XXX) option to download.

usbfilter.sys Mon Mar 09 11:49:01 2009 AMD USB Filter Driver (likely part of the chipset drivers)

Drivers with Updates:

atikmdag.sys Wed Aug 05 05:14:11 2009 AMD Graphics Drivers

  • Download and install DriverSweeper.
  • Uninstall your current Graphics setup through Programs and Features
  • Boot to (preferably) Safe Mode and run Driver Sweeper to clean up the remnants of your current Graphics set up.
  • Reboot to Normal Mode.
  • Install your new Graphics set up.

Can you also download, install and update Malwarebytes' Free. Then run a full scan in Safe Mode (Occasionally malware masquerades as csrss.exe).

Oh, but I did!

A week ago, almost, I replied to Elmer, after trying to install all the missing drivers. Apperently I didn't succeed since the BSOD continued. Then I also attached the latest data avaliable, just check my reply. Of course there are new crasch data since there has been a couple of days since that. But just because I really really need help I will of course attach the latest avaliable in this reply as well.

regards!

OK, if you say so. However; I cannot find nor see them attached to any of your replies.
I can find no images produced and captured from CPUz, nor an HTML Report that you have exported and saved as a result of having run RAMMon, nor anything containing the results of having run the SF Diagnostic Tool (as administrator).
So if you don't mind maybe do it again and include that data in your next post.

Ok. In that case I've missunderstood. I thought that I only should attach the "DMP-file" in a zipped file, and that's what I have done.

So fortgive me for being stupid, but what more files should I attach?

but what more files should I attach?
All of that information is contained in the sticky post at the top of the BSOD forum that Elmer linked to initially.
Your two most recent dump files that you have actually attached to your posts are very similar

While there are several drivers trapped in the above stack trace which you still need to address, it may also suggest a problem with your hard drive or disk controller or possibly even a USB device that you are using in conjunction with Ready Boost for caching.
If you are using a ready boost configured USB device you may want to discontinue its' use, at least temporarily.
Additionally you should probably run the chkdsk utility from an elevated command prompt, type;
chkdsk C: /R
and hit enter
answer yes (Y) when prompted and reboot.
Let it finish all five stages and see what that produces in the way of information.
You may also want to visit your hard drive manufacturer's website and obtain whatever they may have available in the form of a vendor specific proprietary diagnostic utility and run that according to their instructions.

Ok! Not sure I understood all of the instructions though, but please correct me in that case!

I've used SF Diagnostic tool and CPU-Z and zipped them in one file. I also used Rammon and also attached that. Is that right?

Generally speaking, I believe that running the SF Diagnostic Tools will place a folder on your desktop containing multiple files so yes you can place the exported (saved) HTML report from RAMMon into that folder as well. As far as the screen shots that you used the snipping tool to create from the results of the various tabs of CPUz, they will generally be .jpg files and are pretty well compressed already. You can either include them within the folder or attach them directly within your post just make sure they are cropped properly to include only the relevant information from the CPUz window and not your entire screen.
Once you have everything like you want it just right click the folder and choose send to compressed (zipped) folder. That will create an additional folder on your desktop that is compressed with a .zip extension. Attach that.

Grab a blank CD and this program What is Windows Defender Offline? (get the correct version for your architecture (64bit)
Double click the program and it will create a bootable CD for you.
Use that CD to boot your system (may need to adjust the first boot device option in BIOS) and run a FULL system scan. Allow the program to remove and or quarantine anything it finds as malicious.
Report back with the results.

Windows Defender found 2 problems. 1 trojan and 1 malware. Both were deleted and basicly the first thing that happened after restart was that it bluescreened.
